Oracle Unbreakable Linux Support Program for Public Sector
Thursday, December 14, 2006
12 noon - 1:15 p.m. Eastern
Via the Web
During Oracle OpenWorld, Oracle unveiled its new Oracle Unbreakable
Linux Support Program which allows Oracle to provide the same
enterprise class support for Linux as it provides for its database,
middleware and applications products. Through the program, Oracle will
provide the same level of enterprise support for Linux as is available
for other operating systems.
Oracle has supported many Public Sector customers through their
evaluation and migration to the Grid Computing Platform. Linux
is a component of Oracle's Enterprise Grid Computing Strategy
and has been a part of Public Sector's consideration of moving
towards Grid Computing. Therefore, for organizations considering
Linux as a platform or considering Oracle to support Grid Computing,
the web seminar will help you understand how to leverage the
Unbreakable Linux Support program for your Grid Computing requirements.
The Following Topics will be addressed during the web seminar:
- Linux in the Public Sector
- Oracle's Linux Vision
- How Public Sector can take advantage of Oracle's Unbreakable Linux
Program
- Linux and its relationship to Oracle's Grid Computing Platform
Oracle Unbreakable Linux Program Background
Oracle Unbreakable Linux is a support program that provides
enterprises with industry-leading global support for Linux.
For less than half the cost, Oracle's Basic Support is equivalent
to Red Hat's best service level. And Oracle's Premier Support
provides the same level of enterprise-class support that Oracle
provides for the database.
Oracle and Linux Background
Oracle has been a long-standing, key contributor to the Linux
community. Oracle produced its first commercial Linux database in
1998. Since that time Oracle has worked steadily to improve the
experience of all Linux users. Oracle's Linux commitment began in
1998 with the first commercial database on Linux. Today, Oracle
Database is #1 on Linux with more than 80% market share. Many other
popular Oracle products such as applications and middleware also
run on Linux.
