I also observed the webinar and thought it provided some quality information.  One of the key takeaways for me was that Waste Management's GHG analysis showed that curbside recycling reduces GHG emissions despite requiring additional collection trucks to service recycling routes.  It was great to see data on this point as I'm sure many fellow recycling coordinators have been asked that question by the public.

The slides towards the end of the presentation really make the case for getting back to the basics of recycling in regards to emissions reductions and costs.  Also, interesting to see the greenhouse gas impact from composting organics.

I would be interested to hear your opinion on the subject.  Have emissions been considered when making decisions on what and how to recycle in your area?
