ArcGIS 8.x/ArcInfo Users,

We have hit the limit of ArcInfo-level ArcGIS 8.x licenses on the past =
two
days. If you are not editing data or not converting data and can use an
ArcGIS 8.x/ArcViewer-level license, please switch from ArcInfo to =
ArcViewer.
Several data editors have been delayed in their work due to being unable =
to
get a license. We have only 18 ArcInfo-level licenses (which cost =
$10,000
each), but we have 35 ArcViewer-level licenses (which cost only $3,500 =
each).
Obviously we all need to be using the much cheaper ArcViewer license =
whenever
possible.

You should only use the ArcInfo-level license when you are editing or =
doing
data conversions. For normal work, the ArcViewer-level license will be =
all
that is needed.

To switch to the ArcGIS/ArcViewer license, follow the steps below.

1 - Start>Programs>ArcGIS>Desktop Administrator

2 - Click the "Software Product" folder in the tree view in the =
left-hand
frame

3 - Click the "ArcView (Floating)" radio button in the right-hand frame

4 - Click the "Apply" button at the bottom of the window

5 - Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the window to close the =
window

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
