gis-l: ArcSDE 8.3 Migration

GIS Users,

BIS/GIS will be migrating to ArcSDE 8.3 on the weekend of April 3rd or =
one
evening during the week of April 5th.  We are anticipating a smooth
transition that will not require users to change connection strings in =
client
software.  However, users of the ArcGIS products will need to upgrade to =
the
latest version of ArcGIS, ArcGIS 8.3, to maintain compatibility with the
ArcSDE service.  Installation instructions of this software can be found

Our tests indicate that ArcView 3.2a is compatible with ArcSDE 8.3, we =
do not
expect ArcView users to impacted by this migration.  (However, we =
encourage
ArcView 3.2a users to consider migrating to ArcGIS 8.3 as we expect the =
next
version of ArcSDE will not be compatible with ArcView 3.2a.)
