gis-l: New TIGER 2003 data in ArcSDE

	GIS Users,

	A new TIGER 2003 dataset - DataMiner Name - TIGER 2003 Places
(Centroids) has been inserted in ArcSDE. This layer is a point shapefile =
and
consists of the centroids of the TIGER 2003 Places polygons. The layer =
can be
accessed via the"Boundaries" tab in DataMiner. The layer has been =
symbolised
based on the Legal/Statistical Area Description Code (LSADC) attribute
classification.
	The metadata for this layer has been updated and it contains the
detailed description of the various Census codes found in the attribute =
table
of this layer.This layer will be useful in labeling the various places =
in
Florida as well as a useful base layer which could be used in =
conjunction
with other 'theme layers' such as roads, rivers; etc.

	The ArcSDE name for this layer is "base.tiger_places_2003_centroids"

	This layer will serve as the replacement for 2 layer in ArcSDE
base.incorporated_places and base.incorporated _places_2000.

	The above mentioned layers will be deleted a month from today - May
6th 2005.
