gis-l: New FDEP Data Insertion Checklist/Metadata Guide

				ArcGIS Users,

				BIS/GIS Section has updated the FDEP Vector
Data Insertion Checklist. It is now brought up to date with the ArcGIS
8.3/9.x software platform that the section supports. The checklist also
contains important FDEP Albers HARN projection information for new =
vector
data. All new data insertions should be accompanied by this Data =
Checklist
and users should complete it in earnest before submitting any data for
insertions in ArcSDE. All updates to the data should also submit the =
Data
Checklist if there have been any modifications to the column names,
symbology; etc. Prior to filling out the Data Checklist, users should go
through the Data Insertion page at
http://intranetdev/gis/services/sdedata.htm in order to get a better
understanding of what steps need to be taken in order to get the new =
data
ready for insertion in ArcSDE. The new updated checklist can be accessed =

				BIS/GIS Section has also created a new
Metadata Guide to help users in creating the metadata files necessary =
for all
new data insertions. This guide attempts to filter only what is =
necessary to
render metadata which is FGDC-compliant and which includes information =
useful
to the DEP GIS community. Users will find this guide a valuable tool in
helping them through the often difficult task of metadata creation. The
