goal-oriented

 position of GIS Analyst for mapping and GIS data management. This is a
professional, full time,  =20
 salaried, exempt position to begin on or about September 1, 2005.=A0 =

 The Florida Trail Association, a 501c(3) non-profit organization, is
responsible for building,   =20
 maintaining and administering the Florida National Scenic Trail. A =
small
professional staff works=20
 with and helps coordinate the efforts of over 5,000 volunteers.=A0 The
position of GIS Analyst is  =20
 located in our Tallahassee Florida office.

 Job Description:

 The primary role of FTA GIS Analyst is manipulating and managing =
geospatial
data to support land =20
 acquisition, trail administration and member outreach functions of the
organization.=A0 As a member=20
 of the trail team you will be relied upon to work independently, not =
only to
maintain the data   =20
 repository but also share data with agency partners and provide =
cartographic
services to staff   =20
 and a select group of volunteers. Field GPS work in support of land
acquisition and trail        =20
 inventory is also required as well as occasional staff training in GIS
basics.                   =20

 Requirements:

 Individuals must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and two years of
experience with ESRI     =20
 ArcGIS and Microsoft Office software. Individuals must also demonstrate
excellent organizational =20
 and problem-solving skills, and be able to prioritize tasks based on =
effort
and deadlines. This  =20
 position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 The successful candidate will have:=A0=A0 =B7Knowledge of digital =
cartographic
principles and          =20
 experience producing high quality cartographic output=A0=A0 =
=B7Knowledge of
coordinate systems and use =20
 in GIS, including working with multiple projections=A0=A0 =B7Experience =
handling
vector and raster     =20
 images within GIS and graphic applications=A0=A0 =B7Experience =
maintaining and
manipulating            =20
 geodatabases, coverages and shape files=A0=A0 =B7Experience with ArcGIS =
8.3/9.1=A0=A0
=B7Experience with MS  =20
 Windows operating system and networks=A0=A0 =B7Ability to work fluently =
within MS
Office software      =20
 (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)=A0=A0 =B7Experience with Access =
database design
and reporting,       =20
 especially integration into ArcGIS=A0=A0 =B7Knowledge of editing and =
creating
topology =A0=A0 =B7Experience  =20
 with maintenance of data accuracy and standards=A0=A0 =B7Knowledge of =
large format
printers (plotters  =20
 and/or inkjet)=A0=A0 =B7Capability of working independently and as part =
