As a follow up to Linc's announcement of the availablity of 2004 DOQQ's, =
I
have updated the Image Copy extension for ArcView 3.x to include the =
option
to copy these images.

Users who copy image files from network drives to a local drives (for =
use
with mobile GIS applications or to use the file from a local drive to =
speed
up redraw times) may find this tool helpful in determining which files =
need
to be copied. With this extension, you can zoom to an area of interest =
and
simply push a button to copy many different image formats from the =
network
servers to a user specified local directory. For best use of the =
extension,
you should include the Quarter-Quad Grid (under Indexes in DataMiner) in =
your
view, and select the actual quads you want using the Select tool.

The extension may be downloaded from
\\Tlhwrm\gis_common\imagecopy\imagecopy.avx. Once placed in your ArcView =
User
Extensions directory (usually c:\myav3), a choice for Image Copy will =
show up
in your ArcView Extensions dialog (by clicking File and then selecting
Extensions).

Please do not contact BIS/GIS or the Help desk for support with this =
tool --
it is a tool created by DWRM, and for support, please contact me.

This is not for use with ArcMap 8.x or 9!!! Just good, ole fashioned =
ArcView
3.x.=20

Subject: gis-l: 2004 DOQQ Status Advisory

GIS Users,

Summary -

* File-based 2004 DOQQs are now available (minus South Florida Water
Management District).

* 2004 DOQQs are being loaded into ArcSDE. Due to space limitations, =
the
1994 DOQQs may be removed from ArcSDE. We will notify you prior to =
removing
the 1994 DOQQs.

Details -

The 2004 DOQQ file-based imagery is now available to Tallahassee and
district users. Tallahassee users may access the imagery from
\\epic80\library\image\doq_04 . District users may access the imagery =
from
their District GIS server. BIS/GIS has generated image catalogs located =
in
the \icats\ and \doq_04\ directories on your district servers. The =
image
catalog references your district server for data within the geographic
boundary of your district, and \\epic80\ for data outside the =
geographic
boundary of your district.

BIS/GIS is in the process of loading the 2004 DOQQs into ArcSDE raster =
and
will make the it available via DataMiner as soon as this is completed.
However, due to space limitations, it may become necessary to remove the =
1994
DOQQs. (GIS Managers agency-wide were asked if they would rather =
contribute
funds to buy more disk space or to remove the oldest imagery. The =
unanimous
answer was to remove the old.) We will notify you approximately one =
week
prior to removing any of the older imagery. The 1994 DOQQs will =
continue to
be available in a file-based format on EPIC80.=20

Please let us know if you have any questions.
