GIS Users,
The following layers have been newly inserted in the GIS library and is published in DataCatalog/DataMiner:

ArcSDE Name – DEP.FLORIDA_INVASIVE_PLANTS_AREAS
DataCatalog/DataMiner Name – Florida Invasive Plants (areas)

ArcSDE Name - DEP.FLORIDA_INVASIVE_PLANTS_POINTS
DataCatalog/DataMiner Name – Florida Invasive Plants (points)

The Florida Invasive Plants shapefile is derived from a geodatabase of observed locations for invasive, exotic plant species on public conservation lands in Florida. The exotic species therein are those listed by the Florida Exotic Pest Plant Council (EPPC) as being invasive species. State (Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services) and federal (United States Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service) rankings are also listed for the EPPC-listed species. Each record identifies at a minimum the species and date that the observation was made. Other factors such as acreage, plant distribution, reference, and eradication efforts taking place at that location are included as available. These layers are available in the ‘Biology & Ecology’ category in DataCatalog and are under the ‘FNAI’ tab in DataMiner.

These layers will be replacing the following FNAI layer currently in the library:
ArcSDE Name – DEP.FLORIDA_INVASIVE_PLANTS
DataCatalog/DataMiner Name – Florida Invasive Plants

This old layer will be removed from DataCatalog/DataMiner on December, 14th 2009.

Thanks,
OTIS/GIS Section
