Hi Kate,

If you have a need to consolidate information on more than one resulting
shapefile, a personal geo-database could do that. You could perhaps then
consider tracking the changes as process steps in one or more metadata files.

All,

Do you have a form that you use to track shapefile or layer changes as you
progress through a project? I'm looking for useful examples to document both
file names and rationale for the revision or updating. I've creating flow
charts in the past, but am not satisfied, so am looking farther afield. I've
attached one that I did in the past to keep my files straight.

Thanks,

Kate
