This is in reference to Brian Clark's email about the Historical imagery or basemaps for Calhoun County. Most of the topographic maps labeled "Digital Raster Graphics (24k) ArcSDE Raster" in ArcGIS were made back in this time period, and may have the information that you are looking for. They show roads, but the local roads may not be named on the topo maps. If you can get the hard copies of the topo maps, they will have the date on them, if this is something that you have not checked on yet. You may want to check with the FDOT to see if they have county road maps that date back to that time period.

Hello,

We've received an information request concerning a wildlife reserve that supposedly existed in Calhoun County between 1960 and 1962. I believe the requestor is primarily looking for a highway map of the county during this time period, but aerials might help as well. I've tried searching several sites and haven't been able to come up with anything. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Hi Brian -

We have a lot of old paper maps here in Biology section (e.g., Polk county 1957) and a bunch of old aerial maps as well. We're looking through them to see if we have Calhoun for the right time period if a paper map will do.
