Here is some information that you might find interesting or helpful...

We've had many questions about the availability of aerial imagery through the department's enterprise resources.  We would like to take an opportunity to present the answers in a broad forum, first at a presentation in room 609 of the Bob Martinez complex on Tuesday August 21st  from 9 to 10 am.  We'll then post the presentation to intranet webs and as the information changes will add to the links in the future.  We'll be discussing:

*         The widespread use of aerial imagery within the department

*         choice of Orthophoto imagery for distribution

*         an inventory of available imagery

*         how to connect to it

*         near and intermediate future of imagery acquisition

On that note, a new aerial imagery dataset housing orthophotos captured in the winter of 2011-2012  has been created and is available through Data Miner.  It currently delivers only Holmes and Seminole Counties but will be appended with new counties as they become available.  A new statewide 2010-2012 layer is in development.


New Map Direct Focus Spotlight - Kathyrn Tzadik and Lauren Waters, representing CAMA's Coral Reef Conservation Program have developed a new Map Direct Focus to distribute Benthic Habitat classifications draped over very highly resolute south eastern Florida Marine Bathymetry information.  A map direct output .pdf map showing  the content of this focus in off the coast of Miami-Dade is attached to this email.
