gis-l: Pre-planning for GIS assistance at the FDEM EOC

Hello,
This e-mail provides information for FDEP and FDOT GIS staff that may be interested and able to work with the Florida Division of Emergency Management's GIS team at the Southwood Tallahassee emergency operation center (EOC) during hurricane season activation or for similar emergencies that require additional GIS staffing.
* The 2021 Hurricane Season starts on June 1st and it is expected to be an above average year similar to last year.
* If you or your GIS staff that would be willing to support FDEM through mutual aid, if support is requested to assist in the State EOC, please identify those individuals ahead of Hurricane Season and provide to Kim Jackson (FloridaGIO at FLoridaDEP.gov<mailto:FloridaGIO at FLoridaDEP.gov>) for rostering. Kim will contact those staff to document availability and emergency contact information that will be kept secure.
* Skills:
Provide evidence of your management's approval for you to participate
Ability to work in a fast paced sometimes stressful environment.
Ability to work 12 hour shifts with the possibility of working Bravo (overnight) shift.
Ability to work in a team environment, independently in support the GIS Unit and possess strong communication and documentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple requests at once.
Proficient in the use of ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro.
Ability to work with various datasets, i.e. spreadsheets and convert to GIS.
Ability to perform geocoding and ability to perform GIS analyses using varying spatial geometries.
Ability to create hosted feature services, web maps, dashboards, and web applications in ArcGIS Online.
Ability to research or source data from other State Agencies, Counties, or third-party stakeholders.
Knowledge of Experience Builder a plus.
Knowledge of HAZUS-MH a plus.
Ability to create surveys in Survey123 Connect a plus.
Ability to create automated tasks using Python a plus.
* Through mutual aid, FDEM would pay for the individuals travel and salary for the duration of time on site supporting the GIS Unit at the State EOC.
* FDEM through the support of the Florida GIO's office will continue to hold GIS Coordination Calls during Hurricane activations should the scale of the disaster warrant closer coordination between the State Agencies and Water Management Districts.
