Although there are many reasons why we do not want jar files in cvs I =
will
not go into that at this time. Apparently there are about 210 jars that =
have
been archived in CVS. I have created a script that will remove these =
from
the projects. This script takes only a few seconds to run. Each =
project
lead should notify me before close of business Friday when they are =
ready to
deal with this.

If your project fails to build or deploy correctly after this removal it =
is
because the dependency of your project on that jar is not correctly =
included
as part of the project.xml file's list of dependencies.

I would refer all project leads to the latest project I have been =
working
with for an updated view of the 3 files that have the most impact on the
projects from a Maven point of view. build.properties, maven.xml and
project.xml. These can be seen at =
http://epic52/dle-ohmit/build.properties,
http://epic52/dle-ohmit/maven.xml and =
http://epic52/dle-ohmit/project.xml

I encourage all project leads to bring your project into conformance =
with the
latest versions of these files.

It is especially important that each project insure the ear file is =
being
checked into CVS. Note that this is one of the few binaries we want in =
cvs.
All other libraries, the jars, belong only in the maven repository. For
those that have not checked the maven repository is located at
$MAVEN_HOME/.maven/repository where you will find a long list of =
directories
(the artifact id's in the project.xml file).

by including this directive in the dependency stanza of the project.xml =
file
you will be able to have the dependent jar available at runtime and not =
just
at compile time.

http://epic52:7778/DslFspli/SysProps.jsp shows that lines 15 through 100 =
are
already available at runtime because they are part of the deployed jars =
that
come standard with oc4j. It is sufficient to include these jars, if
necessary, only at compile time and not in the deployed project. This =
also
allows a particular project to include newer or different jars than the
standard oc4j.
