[Jhs-leads] Production Server Redeployments for OC4J upgrade

Dixie,

I was notifying everyone that Middle Tier would be redeploying all apps
currently in Production as part of the server upgrade. In support of doing
this I offered to retag the latest revision in CVS marked with a
"PROD-Date-Timestamp" to add a "PROD" tag which would then cause that
specific revision of the EAR file to be used for the redeployment.

The retagging script will not shift existing PROD tags and up until the
redeployment is performed, sometime on Saturday, the PROD tag can be shifted
by the Project lead as necessary.

The date-timestamp is added by the deployment script after a successful
deployment. For this effort I was asking the Project Leads to verify
PROD-Date-timestamp tag for the ear file revision in CVS. That tag as listed
below will get an additional "PROD" tag to have that version of the ear file
deployed to the target environment.

Ivan, I did not realize we had to have a time/date stamp on our ears. Does
this email mean the gis-comp ear will not get deployed on Saturday? Or, do
the ones you list have time/date stamps because they were already on
production?

Please advise. I am not scheduled to come in tomorrow (Friday), but will if
I have to correct this.

Thanks,
Dixie.

Project leads should confirm the revision associated with the tags and verify
that redeployment of the ear file with the noted version is what is desired
for the upcoming Production upgrade of the JHS server.

This script finds the following cvs tags and will retag the noted versions
with a new PROD tag for redeployment - ./dup_prod_tag.sh

cvs tag -r PROD-2006-12-06-09-21-03 PROD arm-pars/dist/arm-pars-1.0.0.ear.
cvs tag -r PROD-2006-05-31-04-19-00 PROD arm-saqs2/dist/arm-saqs2-1.0.0.ear.
cvs tag -r PROD-2006-11-18-04-18-46 PROD dep-fra/dist/dep-fra-1.0.0.ear.
cvs tag -r PROD-2006-12-20-08-49-20 PROD dle-ohmit/dist/dle-ohmit-1.0.0.ear.
cvs tag -r PROD-2006-12-30-04-20-52 PROD dsl-apis/dist/dsl-apis-1.0.0.ear.
cvs tag -r PROD-2005-11-18-16-00-19 PROD dsl-fspli/dist/dsl-fspli-1.0.0.ear.
cvs tag -r PROD-2006-11-10-04-20-33 PROD dsl-ilms/dist/dsl-ilms-1.0.0.ear.
cvs tag -r PROD-2006-11-28-04-21-18 PROD ent-xgate/dist/ent-xgate-1.0.0.ear.
cvs tag -r PROD-2006-12-28-04-19-28 PROD ims-mes/dist/ims-mes-1.0.0.ear.
cvs tag -r PROD-2006-10-25-04-19-33 PROD jhs-sso/dist/jhs-sso-1.0.0.ear.
cvs tag -r PROD-2006-10-27-04-19-45 PROD

cvs tag -r PROD-2006-08-07-04-17-56 PROD wrm-spa/dist/wrm-spa-1.0.0.ear.

Project leads should tag the appropriate ear file revision with PROD in order
to have the applications deployed on the Production server by Monday morning.

These files does not appear to have an appropriate PROD-Date-Timestamp tag
with which to base a new deployment on

These files do not appear to be in the CVS at the required location:
[maven at epic6 maven]$ cvs checkout epa-node/dist/epa-node-1.0.0.ear
[maven at epic6 maven]$ cvs checkout dwm-firstauth/dist/dwm-firstauth-1.0.0.ear

it is sso example. it shows how to use the sso in a very simple one page or
so app. we only use it for testing sso from another application. so we
don't care too much about it.

Some projects (DleOhmit, DwrmDqdws and SsoExp) are deployed on PROD without
being deployed on PRE. Some projects (FedRep) are deployed on PRE without
being on INTG.

Some projects (DslBipmis, FedRep and SsoExp) are deployed on DEMO without
being on INTG.

It seems we have a total of 25 projects.

Subject: Project counts

Please verify the numbers of JHS projects actually deployed on the DEMO,
INTG, PRE and PROD servers and include the project ear file name.

I suggest using something like the find command from the j2ee directory
searching for *.ear.

I am trying to confirm the CVS tag history and label counts I get from the
utility I have been writing for the project listings at
http://jhs/projects/index.html

The deployment totals at the bottom of the list reflect the details found in
CVS tags and I would like to note any variances from the actual deployments
as recorded in CVS tags. Note that the DEMO tag was not used in script
deployments.
