DISPOSAL OF PHARMACEUTICALS IN LANDFILLS SAID TO REQUIRE
MORE ATTENTION

Researchers at the Imperial College in London say
significant amounts of pharmaceuticals appear to be disposed
as household waste and that sort of disposal activity merits
closer scrutiny. In their study published in "Environmental
Health Perspectives", the British researchers say increasing
the number of landfills with technologies that can remove
drugs from leachate (liquid that seeps through solid waste
extracting soluble and suspended materials) might help to
address the issue. . . . Page A-14

I'm looking for information on a future pharmaceutical conference to be
=3D
held in Las Vegas. I believe it's in the near future, this fall. I lost
=3D
the brochure. The conference deals with endocrine disruptors and drug =
=3D
concentratations in effluents and streams. Does anyone have any
conference =3D
dates or information for me?

Cynthia,

No, neither our library or our legal services program has a
subscription. But, I signed up for a free trial & am still waiting for
BNA to contact me with a temporary id & password.

I did a Google search for Environmental Health Perspectives & found the
website for the journal (http://ehp.niehs.nih.gov/). Is the article
available for free at the EHP website? If yes, could you please send
another message to the listserv with an EHP link to the article instead
of the original BNA link?

Thanks,

Dave

I was about to copy and send it to you, but it is copyrighted and so I
cannot. Do you have a library that may get it?

Hi Cynthia:

To open the document link in your following message requires a free
trial or paid BNA subscription. I suspect many on the listserv like
myself don't already have a paid subscription. Is there another way for
us to access the document without signing up for a free trial or paying
for a subscription?

Thanks
