Note regarding medicine bottles. The Lions Club collects old medicine
bottles, labels removed, for the distribution of medications in other
countries. Currently they use folded paper because the medicine bottle
donations are scarce but often times the medications get wet or lost
from the folded paper. Just an FYI.

Greetings from Washington--
Has anyone looked into the most environmentally preferable method of
disposal for pharmaceuticals (not just what is regulatory)?
For instance, I am trying to ensure that incineration is the best
possible option of these materials and am having a hard time finding
good data on incinerating pharmaceuticals.
1. Are there pharmaceuticals that shouldn't be incinerated?
2. Are plastic pill bottles a problem for dioxin emissions?
3. At what temperature do the Genotoxic pharmaceuticals need to be
incinerated? My sources say 1200 degrees Celsius. Is this correct?
FYI-I am facilitating a project here in the Northwest region to take
back pharmaceuticals.
