Down the Drain and Into the Water Supply: The facts about endocrine
disruptors, pharmaceuticals, and personal care products in drinking water
Wednesday, May 4, 2005
There's still time to register!
Registration closes on Tuesday, May 3 at 12 noon.
1:00 - 2:30 p.m. Eastern

Over the last decade, endocrine disrupting compounds (EDCs) and
pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) have received growing
attention from the scientific community, regulatory agencies and the public
at large. Results of several recent studies indicate that a large number of
these compounds are present in the aquatic environment as a result of the
discharge of wastewater effluents and agricultural runoff.
Join us in this all-new webcast that will highlight the scientific and
regulatory issues associated with EDCs and PPCPs in drinking water. Public
interest in these compounds continues to increase and the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency (USEPA) has been mandated to conduct a screening program
for these compounds. You will learn about the source and occurrence of these
compounds from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), potential treatment
options, and regulatory implications.
This Webcast will provide information on:
*	The regulatory background and a case study on atrazine

*	Source and occurrence of emerging contaminants in US waters

*	Analytical methods and treatment options
