Sorry for any cross post....

Thought that this was good and that y'all might be interested. Can't
get the Technical paper on line usless you are a member.

The four page FACT SHEET is a good GENERAL INFORMATION document that
folks may be interested in: http://www.werf.org/pdf/04WEM6a.pdf

THE LONG AND SHORT OF EDCs

Two new documents from WERF tackle the questions, concerns, and
misconceptions surrounding endocrine disrupting compounds (EDCs). The
first, Technical Brief: Endocrine Disrupting Compounds and Implications
for Wastewater Treatment, is a comprehensive document to educate the
wastewater treatment community on endocrine disrupting compounds and
their fate in the wastewater treatment process.

This brief summarizes the latest research on EDCs and provides an easily
accessible primer on the endocrine system, the nature and sources of
EDCs, and their potential effects on human health and the environment.

Based on information in the Technical Brief, WERF has created a
four-page Fact Sheet. Composed in Q&A format, this quick guide answers
common questions concerning EDCs. Treatment facilities should find it
useful in educating staff members, as well as concerned members of the
community.
