The World Health Organization has published a report titled, "Global
Assessment of the State-of-the-Science of Endocrine Disruptors." The =
report
is a result of a charge to the Internationale Programme on Chemical =
Safety to
study the adverse effects that endocrine disruptors (EDs) have or may =
have on
living organisms. The report discusses the effects of EDs on wildlife =
and
humans, the mechanisms of action of EDs, exposure routes, and weighs the
evidence against EDs using causal criteria. The report concludes that =
there
is sufficient evidence that adverse endocrine-mediated effects have =
occurred
in some wildlife species, but there is weak evidence that human health =
has
been adversely affected by exposure to chronic, low-level concentrations =
of
endocrine-active compounds. The report recommends that future research
efforts concentrate on the timing, frequency, and duration of exposure =
to
these chemicals.

Thanks to Lauren Walker-Coleman for bringing this to my attention.
