Angela--Thank you for the references. They are terrific! I am not sure
if resolutions are on the MMA website. The specific resolution is #312:
Contamination of Drinking Water by Pharmaceuticals and Personal Care
Products:

RESOLVED, that the Minnesota delegation to the American Medical
Association submit a resolution to the American Medical Association
House of Delegates calling on the American Medical Association to
request that the Environmental Protection Agency conduct studies on
pharmaceuticals and personal care products in drinking water to
determine how harmful the levels of pharmaceuticals and personal care
products in our nation's drinking water supplies are to public health,
and be it further

RESOLVED, that the Minnesota Medical Association study the proper
disposal of pharmaceutical products in hospitals, clinics, and physician
offices, and resport back to the 2006 House of Delegates.

I did an interview with M N P ublic R adio reporter Lorna Benson today.
Lorna says she is going to speak with one or two additional sources and
plans to broadcast this sometime next week. She said she would get back
to me and I will then let you know the specific date and time. Thanks
again!--S.Hall

	Dear Dr. Hall:

Thank you for calling to share information on the resolution
recently passed by the Minnesota Medical Association related to
pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) in the waste stream.
Copied below are links to additional information on PPCP monitoring and
disposal projects at MPCA and other agencies that we discussed on the
phone.

Please keep us informed on what the response is from the AMA on
your resolution; is this resolution available on the MMA website? Also,
let us know when the MPR story will air. I will pass on your interest
in sharing similar messages to the public on PPCP issues with my
colleagues, Laura Solem and Rebecca Walter, who also work on PPCP issues
for our agency.

	Sincerely,
	Angela
