To better understand these chemicals (EDCs) and their effects, the Mid
Atlantic Water Program, the Chesapeake Research Consortium, and the
Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments, hosted a science forum
to assess the state of the science for EDCs. This forum, entitled
"Endocrine Disrupters: What We Know and What We Don't
</themes/policy/ed_workshop_docs/EndocrineDisruptorsFinalAgenda.pdf> ,"
was held in Frederick, MD on November 16, 2006. Nationally and
regionally-renowned EDC scientists gathered with interested scientists
and managers from academia, industry, and government to discuss the
current scientific understanding of EDCs and their impacts on human and
wildlife health. With representatives from agricultural and municipal
sectors, this forum also reviewed solutions to reducing EDCs in animal
and municipal wastes.
