California's SB 966 was signed by the governor today. The law now
requires the Waste Management Board to identify and develop model
programs for the safe disposal of household generated pharmaceutical
waste. The board must report to the legislature in 2010 what next steps
should be based on data gathered from these model programs. For more
info, see
http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/cgi-bin/postquery?bill_number=sb_966&sess=CUR&
house=B&author=migden

Congratulations and thanks to all who had a part in getting something on
the books. Even though it's not as ambitious as we'd hoped, it's a
start!
