Re; Pet urine/Pet parks
Maybe I'm too simplistic, but I guess my take is if the park is well
grassed, trees, etc, then the pet urine should not be running off, but
being absorbed into the soil where the microbial activity, etc, will at
least have a chance to break it all down, absorb into plant roots, attach
to the soil particles, etc, etc, just like in a buffer strip or much like
in a septic lateral field. Towards that end, I would even recommend a
buffer strip as a BMP along the park to protect any nearby stream or pond
for just that reason.
