Empty? Oh no..absolutely full of a magnificent translucent green
liquid...only thing it doesn't seem to do is glow in the dark.

Is it empty? If its completely empty then its your "antique". You
could triple rinse it for your own peace-of-mind, but if its got
anything left in it, there's no exemption for being 'old'.

I'm still puzzling though whether this might be a "collectible" or an
"antique..."

If ignitable it could also be a D001 waste. Don't you love RCRA? RCRA
ignitability is defined in a couple of ways. >24 % alcohol or <60C
flashpoint in penske martin closed cup flash test.

Chloroform 67-66-3 10,000 10 10 313 U044 20,000 (information from "list
of lists")

The U code means U-listed RCRA if unused and you need to dispose of it,
even in a mixture, it is a hazardous waste. If it is 'spent'
chloroform, it could still be D listed waste D022, TCLP , 6.0 mg/L. if
tested above 6.0 mg/L for TCLP.

Subject: [Pharmwaste] Green OIl question

A question has arisen over disposal of a bottle of Green Oil, probably
manufactured in 1950 or earlier that comes from a now defunct pharmacy.
Main active ingredient is chloroform, percentage unknown. Thoughts? Also
legality as it does not appear to be a controlled drug...but not
available for current purchase?
