Please spread the word about this event to friends, colleagues, and
professional listserves. Many thanks in advance!
What do we know about how our children are affected by everyday toxic
exposures, especially during their critical developmental years? And
who's minding the shop when it comes to protecting our kids from these
chemicals?
The Northwest Children's Environmental Health Forum,
www.chenw.org/CEHforum.html, brings together a rare group of scientists
and policy makers who are on the cutting edge of answering those
questions. You can hear from these local and national experts October 1
& 2 in Tukwila, WA. There will be speakers, interactive, cross-topic
panels, and generous Q&A time. Early registration ends September 9; the
low cost of $50.00 covers both event days and includes all organic
meals! CME credits and clock hours for certified teachers are available.
Topics include hormone disruptors, pesticides in food, cell phones and
electromagnetic radiation, house dust, climate change, high-risk
exposure times during pregnancy, how an individual exposure can be
carried down to later generations, and causes of autism. Policy sessions
zero in on efforts being made to protect kids at home, in schools and
child care centers, in healthcare settings, in communities, through the
foods they eat, and through the toys they play with. For questions,
contact the Local Hazardous Waste Management Program at 206-263-3083, or
