There are a number of groups promoting plasma as a solution for med waste...one issue is it takes volumes to make it work....and thus everything I have seen so far pushes putting all garage, all recycling, everything including the kitchen sink...may be good in some applications but we have all worked so hard for recycling....to simply send it all to a burn....

plasma is older science now being applied to a new arena. Its a high cost to build as well. Maybe others out there have more experience...last 2 times I looked into it there really were no viable plants in the US...lots of chatter about development...I hear they are in use in Japan.

http://www.transgreenenergy.com/ - This Company is piloting their cutting
edge company based out of Detroit, MI. They will be using high energy
plasma to "zap" pharmaceuticals that results in actually generating energy
from the existing carbon, nitrogen and oxygen molecular bonds, with the end
product of ethanol and methane.
