TOOTHPASTE
Below is my review the ingredient statement and the ingredients
one-by-one in a toothpaste, which I will not identify.
SODIUM FLUORIDE—which is said to be safe. However, it is a poison--yes
it is a registered pesticide (there are no pesticide claims so it is
okay to put it in toothpaste) and is used to kill pest. It is an
insecticide, fungicide and rodenticide; a wood preservative; water
purifier; disinfectant; etc. It is toxic by ingestion; a tissue
irritant; etc.
HYDRATED SILICA--silica is toxic by inhalation and its dust can cause
silicosis. Silica is also a pesticide.
SORBITOL--is toxic by ingestion, may cause hypermotility and diarrhea.
GLYCERIN--glycerol is a pesticide (there are no pesticide claims so it
is okay to put it in toothpaste); used in cosmetics, soaps, and
hydraulic fluid; etc. It is toxic by ingestion; can cause headaches,
nausea and vomiting; is an eye and skin irritant.
TETRAPOTASSIUM PYROPHOSPHATE (TKPP)--is used in soaps and detergents; etc.
PEG 8--is a polyethylene glycol series of carbowax chemicals of which
some are toxic; irritants; questionable carcinogens; etc.
TETRASODIUM PYROPHOSPHATE (TSPP)--is used as a water softener; in
soaps and detergents; metal cleaner; food additive; etc. It is toxic
by inhalation; a poison by ingestion; etc.
SODIUM LAURYL PHOSPHATE--a phosphate. We know that phosphates
discharged into waterways are harmful to aquatic life--what about
here. Phosphates are also nutrient algae growth in waters.
TITANIUM DIOXIDE--a pigment in paints; etc. It is an irritant; a
questionable carcinogen; etc.
FLAVOR—is unidentified on label.
XANTHAN GUM—is used in foods; drilling fluids; etc. Hazardous--we don't know.
SODIUM SACCHARIN--a carcinogen (a listed hazardous waste).
SODIUM BENZOATE—is a pesticide (there are no pesticide claims so it is
okay to put it in toothpaste); food preservative; in tobacco; etc. It
is a poison; an experimental teratogen; etc.
Red #30 Lake, Blue #1 and Yellow #10--like PEGs there are just too
many dyes to search out. Many are toxic; carcinogens; etc. If they
contain an--azo--if in the chemical name, there is a good chance that
it is a carcinogen.
