All,
Please note this email is from Taylor Watson, not me. Also, if you try to post something and it is rejected, please let me know. I can help find out why or at least repost for you. The list serve is subject to all the security updates that are put on our computers at Florida DEP and sometimes that causes problems that are not immediately apparent to me. Thanks! Laurie

As many of you may already know, the King County (Washington) Board of Health passed Secure Medicine Return Regulations on June 20, 2013 for secure collection and environmentally sound destruction of unwanted medicines from residents in King County. It is a product stewardship model where pharmaceutical companies who manufacture medicines sold for residential use in or into King County are required to finance and provide the secure medicine return system.

Implementation steps have begun. Stakeholders who participated in the King County Board of Health's process received information recently that included a copy of the complete Regulations and a factsheet that provides a summary of the law. These (and all subsequent) update materials are available on a new website: http://kingcountysecuremedicinereturn.org .
