[Pharmwaste] RE: Status of IL Pharmacies Doing Med Takeback

Contact with AR's Asst. Drug Czar yesterday indicated he thought of maybe 3 participating pharmacies (not any "big chain" ones).

They're seeing it as a further drain on their already strained resources. No money or incentive in it for them, just another admin burden with 150 +/- LE offices already having permanent drop boxes saturating the Natural State.

Subject: [Pharmwaste] Status of IL Pharmacies Doing Med Takeback

Greetings!
I wanted to check and see what the status was in IL regarding pharmacies being able to take back meds under the new federal law. Can they take back controls and non-controls, just non-controls, or no meds at all?
If pharmacies can take back meds, are there any that are currently participating?
Regards,
Amy
