[Pharmwaste] Sharps

My mistake!
I went to the safeneedledisposal.org site and did a 100 mile search using my home zip code of 55123, close to the WI border. Now that I go back and do it again, I see that indeed these are not mainly pharmacy or clinic locations. When I searched 56258, closer to the western border with S. Dakota, those are the ones that are mainly pharmacies.

Thank you all for the responses so far! Responding to my email vs. the list serve might be best for those that wish to stick to pharms.

Where did you hear or see that most retail pharmacies in WI collect sharps?

It has been my experience that most do not, with the exception of Brown County, who has a very robust sharps collection program with their pharmacies.

Sorry, this is a bit off topic. I am looking for contacts in Wisconsin or the Dakota's who can tell me why nearly all of your retail pharmacies collect sharps. Most all of ours do not. Given we're pretty well set up for pharm collection and are growing in that area, I need to move into this area. I did some zip code searches in MN and the east and west codes all pick up sites in WI or the Dakota's!
