Hello Everyone,

Attached are the narrative and chart - revised to incorporate the 4/20/16 Rx Take Back.

Some additional AR highlights / information:


-        We retained our #3 per capita ranking (using 2010 Census) but trail Delaware by only 0.000389 lbs. per person.   We are very close to passing them.

-        We are #2 per capita if using the newest 2015 US Census population estimate.

-        This was the largest, most successful Rx Take Back to date both in Arkansas and in the entire US.

-        Arkansas continues to completely outperform all our DEA regional states and is the #1 performing state in the South.

Hello Everyone,

It was also a record Rx Take Back nationally.

Allen Gilliam of ADEQ shared the DEA Take Back results press release with me today (link at http://www.dea.gov/divisions/hq/2016/hq050616.shtml) and also a results by state slideshow which is embedded within the release.

To eliminate any confusion when you see the statement referencing "the previous 10 events" , we in Arkansas have had 12 total state Take Back events where the national event has had 11.  Of course, we could not have had the extra Take Back without our Arkansas DEA office and all the Arkansas partners, and we are fortunate and appreciative that we were authorized by DEA to report and have results recorded from our "extra" Take Back.

More will be sent as it is received and as it is developed, including the narrative (with per capita results) and chart with which you may be familiar.

Hello All,

Congratulations on a record-setting Prescription Drug Take Back!    The total Arkansas weight collected for the April 30 Take Back was 25,289 lbs. - the most of any of the 12 AR events.

I will have more information for you all after national data comes in from DEA.
