While Congress considers various bills to address the opioid epidemic, the White House has released the estimated funding each state would receive if the President's budget proposal is adopted.

The announcement speaks to building upon current strategies, "to prevent drug use, pursue targeted drug enforcement activities, improve prescribing practices for pain medication, increase access to treatment, work to reduce overdose deaths, and support the millions of Americans in recovery." Last in it's list of examples is the DEA Take Back Initiative. It seems to me they are supporting the maintenance of this program and not increasing funding for other take back efforts.

Included is useful county by county data on the drug poisoning death rate per 100,000 (2010-2014).
