Hi Laurie,

Congratulations and best wishes on your retirement. You have faithfully maintained this list which has been an invaluable resource to all of us. Thank you so much for all your work and for your active monitoring that has kept the conversations on-topic.

Welcome Jill Scarborough!

I wish you the best as you move forward in your next career. I want to thank you for allowing me to tag on to the list serve as an outsider before I joined the state of Tennessee. Thank you for your service to our Nation in past careers, you should be proud of what you did as well as the citizens of the state of Florida. Thanks for your participation and support of NAHMMA and the connection with citizens, vendors, consultants and regulators as we try to protect ourselves and our environment. Bob

Subject: [Pharmwaste] New List Serve Administrator

To all my friends on the Pharmwaste List Serve,

I am retiring September 30. One of the hardest things I’m doing is turning over administration of the list serve and saying good-bye to all of you.

Do you know this list serve has been in existence since January, 2005? I am looking at the archive section right now, remembering some folks who have moved on to other things and topics we discussed all those years ago. We’ve come a long way, with successful legislation, DEA events, permanent collection sites all over the country, and on-going research showing how important these things are to the current and future health of our precious water.

Jill Scarborough is taking over as administrator of the list server. Jill works in our hazardous waste section and has been my counterpart in pharmaceuticals but for business waste instead of homeowner waste. Changing administrators won’t change anything for the rest of you.

Of everything I’ve done while working for Florida DEP, I am most proud of the list serve and the impact it has had at a national level. Thank you all for helping that happen. I am also thankful to DEP for hosting this unique beast and for keeping it going after I leave.

You’ll probably see me post in the future but it will be from my living room.

Keep going with all the great work we’ve already accomplished,
Your friend,
Laurie
