[Pharmwaste] NATIONAL RX WASTE COLLECTION PROGRAM

For what it's worth, I want to hear about programs that provide for incineration that are not for profit, whether municipal or otherwise operated. I find it helpful in helping residents find household collection options that preserve our drinking water. The other products I've seen that were considered spam did not provide for incineration and destruction of the active pharmaceutical agents to protect our natural resources. They were also shared by for profit companies to market products to healthcare providers for purposes of meeting DEA irretrievable requirements. Since DEA is not present sharing information on this list serve, nor endorsing any products, the information they served was not helpful to me. It might be if direct marketed to a healthcare provider and confirmed acceptable to meet DEA irretrievable by local DEA agents.

I've asked the same question. It isn't exactly SPAM, but it is advertising a program and cost, etc. so it looks like what any for profit company could be doing on the list serve, which is discouraged: We sold x number of envelopes and brought in X number of drugs for X dollars. Or we have collection bins that we service in x locations and have collected x number of pounds for x dollars. YJOD gets a pass because you are a non-profit is about the only thing I can think of that is different.

Scott Seery, I don't understand why you would ask if this is SPAM. It is clearly not. It is a News Release posted by me to the Listserve from my e-mail address.
