Yesterday, the Product Stewardship Institute (PSI) and New York product Stewardship Council (NYPSC) released a free Drug Take-Back Toolkit for Medical Professionals. Doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals nationwide will use these materials to educate their peers and their patients about safe drug disposal. You can find the Toolkit here: http://www.productstewardship.us/default.asp?page=GoToGuide_Medical
The toolkit includes:

* Poster --11 x 17 in. -- How to safely dispose of unused medications, and quick facts about why.

* Patient Brochure -- 8.5 x 11 in. -- Why and how to safely dispose of unused medications.

* Medical Professionals Brochure -- 8.5 x 11 in. -- How to talk to patients about their leftover meds.

* Sample language that medical professionals can include in their patient-facing newsletters, website, or Patient Portal

This material was developed through a PSI and NYPSC drug take-back pilot. The five participating hospitals began distributing the material to doctors and patients yesterday. More information on the project can be found at http://www.productstewardship.us/?page=NYdrugtakeback

Thank you,
Megan
