Meds and Sharps
EPR Update

SB 212 (Jackson, Gray, Ting) <http://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billNavClient.xhtml?bill_id=201720180SB212> would establish a stewardship program, under which a manufacturer or distributor of covered drugs or sharps, or other entity defined to be covered by the bill, would be required to establish and implement, either on its own or as part of a group of covered entities through membership in a stewardship organization, a stewardship program for covered drugs or for sharps, as applicable.
The Governor has until 9/30/18 at midnight to sign!
See the CPSC Coalition Sign-on Letter<https://calpsc.org/mobius/cpsc-content/uploads/2018/09/SB-212-Sign-on-Support-Governor-Sign-9-14-18.pdf> urging Governor Brown to sign SB 212
Use our model letter<https://calpsc.org/mobius/cpsc-content/uploads/2018/09/SB-212-Sample-Letter-9-7-18.docx> to submit your own request to Governor Brown

Why is SB 212 unique in the U.S.?
1. This is the only statewide program for needles/sharps and meds!
2. Allows existing ordinances to continue
3. Requires the stewardship organizations to be IRS 501(C)3 orgs for public benefit.
More details will be presented on the webinar!
So please join us!
