[Pharmwaste] MODERNA COVID-19 VACCINE - Disposal Guidance

Good Vaccine News!

 

Based on a preliminary review of currently available data, the MODERNA
COVID-19 VACCINE is preservative free and is not EPA RCRA hazardous when
discarded.  

 

As a best management practice, it is a good idea to incinerate
pharmaceuticals.  Since this particular drug formulation is not RCRA
hazardous, it does not need to be incinerated at a hazardous waste
incinerator (TSDF).

 

We will be updating our system as new information on this COVID-19 vaccine
and others become available.
