Dear Pharmwaste Listserv,

The regulations for California's Pharmaceutical and Sharps Waste Stewardship Program have been approved and are in effect immediately!

NSAC, along with CPSC, were the leading forces behind the passage of Senate Bill 212 (Jackson, Ting, and Gray)<https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billTextClient.xhtml?bill_id=201720180SB212> in 2018, which created this statewide EPR program for medication and sharps in CA.

We look forward to the rollout of a successful program that allows all Californians to safely and conveniently dispose of unwanted medications and needles!
