color:blue'>Hi Laurie.&nbsp; Our household hazardous waste (HHW) collection
site rules provide for the use of these facilities by Very Small Quantity
Generators (VSQGs).&nbsp;&nbsp;The fastest way to give you some bare-bones
information would be to direct you to our web site, which includes

color:blue'>Several of our collection events/facilities have accepted
pharmaceuticals from VSQG; however, some have chosen not to do this for various
reasons, including cost (I have heard of instances where they come in with
significant amounts of material - far too much to handle at one of these
one-day collection events).&nbsp; I agree there are some instances where it
seems unreasonable to point out all of the RCRA requirements to certain facilities
or generators.&nbsp; On the other hand, we are trying to get that message out
to generators, with a view to encouraging better overall management decisions
(e.g., purchasing and inventory, prescription practices, <u>and</u> proper
waste management).</span></em><o:p></o:p></p>

think it is a good question for us to discuss and I&#8217;d like to hear of any
solutions other states have come up with for clinics, nursing homes, vets
&#8211; the people that kind of fall through the cracks &#8211; not covered by
homeowner&#8217;s exemptions but not big enough to use reverse distribution. I
hate to tell them about RCRA and that they need incur costs to dispose of their
drugs and have been told on more than one occasion that they are going to keep
flushing their meds until I come up with a regulation that says they
can&#8217;t. </span><o:p></o:p></p>

color:#1F497D'>Any good solutions out there? Or does anyone have regulations
