color:blue'>Most of these materials (pharmwaste) that are being incinerated are
part of larger batches, so individual emission stats may be hard to come by
unless there was a "batch pure" run with stack analysis. They
(fuel blenders, boilers,cement kilns, med waste and RCRA incinerators)
like the BTU value of pharms for better burning.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal> <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";
color:blue'>I understand that there was a Med Waste Plasma facility in Hawaii,
it may have only been a pilot test, but there my be data there. I do not
have any details. The Plasma solution systems have been coming around
regularly for the last 15-20 years, but most have some type of afterburner on
the unit and this triggers 40 CRF 264 requirements for a RCRA incineration
permit depending on the waste put into the units. This issues usually
slows down the proposal. </span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal> <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";
color:blue'>At the NAHMMA conference in Miami in 2004 that started
this list serve there was a person from mid west I think, that put
pharm waste in a drum with diesel to send for fuel blending. That person
may have some feed back on their disposal of these drums.</span><o:p></o:p></p>

<p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";
color:blue'>The other option is to contact the air monitoring permit authority
of a facility that accepts pharm waste for incineration to see if that data is
extractable from there regular monitoring program.</span><o:p></o:p></p>

med waste...one issue is it takes volumes to make it work....and thus
everything I have seen so far pushes putting all garage, all recycling,
everything including the kitchen sink...may be good in some applications but we
have all worked so hard for recycling....to simply send it all to a burn....</span><o:p></o:p></p>
