<DIV>Some questions were raised about legislation regarding flushing of unused pharmaceuticals in New York State. NYS does not currently have legislation that specifically prohibits the disposal of unused pharmaceuticals by flushing. However, the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) strongly advises households that no drugs be flushed (<SPAN style="FONT: 10pt Tahoma; COLOR: #0000ff; TEXT-DECORATION: underline"><A href="http://www.dontflushyourdrugs.net/">www.dontflushyourdrugs.net</A></SPAN><SPAN style="FONT: 10pt Tahoma; COLOR: #000000">). Recent legislation has amended the NYS Environmental Conservation Law sections 27-2701 and 27-2703 to require pharmacies and other retail establishments to post notices regarding the proper disposal of unused medications. </SPAN></DIV>
