As of December 30, 2016, an Administrative Law Judge invalidated a proposed pollution notification rule promulgated by the Department, which required owners of installations throughout the State of Florida to report pollution events to the local government as well as a local media outlet to notify the general public of the event. Protecting Florida's pristine environment is our top priority and DEP will continue the public pollution notification process to ensure all Floridians and visitors are notified of pollution incidents. Moving forward the notification process from the Department may change, however it was imperative that the notification to the public continued seamlessly. The incident below was reported to the State Watch Office and is being forwarded to you because the event has occurred in your area. Per Rene with Pasco County Warning Point (727-847-8102): All lanes are now open.

Per Duty Officer Supervisor Grimes with FHP (813-631-4020): 1 northbound lane has been opened.

CORRECTION TO PREVIOUS UPDATE: Northbound lanes of I-75 are closed at around the 285 mile marker, not southbound.

Per Rene with Pasco County Warning Point (727-847-8102): All northbound lanes of I-75 will remain closed to civilian traffic at around the 285 mile marker until the roadway can be repaired. Estimated repairs will take several hours. All northbound lanes should be open sometime Saturday morning.

FHP reports that NB lanes of I-75 will remain closed so that the roadway can be re-paved.
