BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF JOB DUTIES: This is a full-time OPS position in the
Office of Greenways and Trails. The position will assist in implementation
of
a geographic information system (GIS) using ArcGIS and ArcView software.
Tasks include GIS staff technical support, data development, quality
assurance/quality control of GIS-related products, and map production.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited
college or university with a major in one of the physical, natural, or
social
sciences; or professional experience in environmental protection, regulation
or health can substitute for the required college education on a
year-for-year basis.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL(s) & ABILITIES: Knowledge of: the principles of
GIS and proficiency in ArcView and/or ArcGIS software. Educational
background
or experience in geography, environmental sciences and/or planning. Skill in
use of Microsoft Office software, specifically Word, Access, Excel,
PowerPoint and Outlook. Ability to: work with a team and plan, organize and
prioritize work assignments accordingly; to communicate professionally and
effectively, both verbally and in writing, with the general public, other
government agencies, and staff.
