Florida Department of Environmental Protection is currently accepting
applications for a full-time Environmental Specialist II (OPS) =
position.=20
This is a full time technical and professional position in the Ground =
Water
Protection Section to support the State's Watershed Management Program. =
 The
primary responsibilities include the following:

=B7	Support in management of ground water quality data using EXCEL,
ACCESS and other software tools;
=B7	Support in conducting basin-wide and focused ground water quality
assessments;
=B7	Use of GIS in managing and displaying data used in assessments and
some data analysis depending on ability;
=B7	Creating draft and final maps using ArcGIS and map production
software for technical reports and presentations;=20
=B7	Conducting literature research in support of ground water-surface
water studies; and
=B7	Writing and compiling portions of technical documents.
   =20
Knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant should include:
knowledge of geology, water quality and natural systems in Florida;
experience in data base management support;=20
advanced skill in use of the above-mentioned computer applications;
excellent technical writing skills. =20

Experience in ground water and surface water quality assessments is
preferred.  Applicant must be able to work with a team, plan, organize, =
and
prioritize their work assignments accordingly. The successful applicant =
must
have good interpersonal skills and be able and willing to communicate
professionally and effectively both verbally and in writing with the =
general
public, other government agencies, and co-workers. =20

Minimum qualifications: a bachelor's degree in a natural science and 2 =
years
professional experience.=20

This position is located in Tallahassee and is currently vacant.  =
