Position Summary
PBS&J's Tampa office is seeking an experienced GIS professional to be a part
of its Information Solutions team.
WE ARE LOOKING PREFERABLY FOR LOCAL OR REGIONAL CANDIDATES
We have an opening for a strong Project Manager to work with Geospatial IT
technologies. As a PM, the person will prepare project work plans, schedules
and budgets; monitor project production, mentor team members, etc. - all in
support of both our internal and external clients seeking GIS expertise..
This individual will perform the following duties: project coordination and
management, development of project implementation plans, manage data
gathering, conversion & analysis of GIS databases, prepare data
documentation or metadata for GIS projects, prepare high-quality maps &
exhibits with GIS data sets, participate in client needs analysis, implement
database design, conversion, and migration of data from a variety of
formats, data integration, monitor quality control within area of
responsibility, maintain continued knowledge of technology developments in
the GIS/IS field & use of GIS software and IT tools, and perform such other
duties as the Supervisor may from time to time deem necessary. Some travel
may be required.
Requirements
Masters preferred or BS acceptable with the appropriate amount and quality
of experience. Degree can be in Geography, IT, MIS, or related discipline,
etc.
The qualified individual must have a minimum of 6 years (with a Masters) or
8 years (with a BS degree) experience directly in this field. In addition,
they must demonstrate strong skills and experience with ESRI ArcGIS suite of
software (ArcInfo, ArcView, ArcIMS, ArcObjects, ArcSDE). Knowledge of Visual
Basic, C++, HTML, XML, Java, JavaScript, ASP, .NET and/or similar is
required. Strong database and data integration experience desired in at
least one of the following: Microsoft SQL, Oracle or Access.
Any background in Water Resources engineering is a plus!
