Hello all!

Surely you all are familiar with GIS Day?
http://www.gis.com/showcase/gisday.html)

Well - I opened up my big mouth and volunteered that one of my GIS Day
Map Gallery projects would be some sort of Conservation map.
("How GIS can help Save Wildlife" - or something similar.)

Trouble is - I am having an enormous amount of trouble finding raw data
so I can make my own map.
(I am finding plenty of maps already made, but the rules of our map
gallery is that it has to be made in house where possible.)

Do any of you have any data laying around or a link to data that I can
download?
It can be any kind of species - furred or gilled, winged or scaled -
bugs even!
It doesn't even have to be current!
I am only trying to convey an example not only of what GIS can do, but
of what our in-house capabilities are.=20

(In case you are curious - my other maps are a "Now and Then" type of
display - showing Florida today and insets of historical Florida Maps,
then I am doing a "Where in the World?" type game using Google satellite
maps of mainly local landmarks, then I have a "Territory Map" for our
Targeted Trade Areas showing carrier routes colored by Median HH
Income.)

Thank you,
