FDEP has used configurations similar to the one you describe. They have
used mulitple spatial servers on a single machine and have had web
server/app servers point to multiple spatial server machines. Here is a
link to a paper Chris Judd and I presented at the 2003 User Conference
that should provide you with more details.

Also, if you are going to the conference next week, make it a point to
try and talk to the Systems Integration folks in the Doctors Office-
