Ken, if you take a look at our demo application on the web at:

you'll see an example of hot spot mapping.  This feature lets you create
a colored overlay on a map, based on the density of a point feature
layer.  If you want, you can call me and I can explain how it works.=20

I know that you can do this with the desktop tools and spatial analyst,
but I don't know how.

Is there a way to take a layer of points and create
polygons based on the density in an area.  I am
thinking about taking the highly concentrated points
and displaying it in a ramped symbology to create a
better visual of what is going on.  An example that
may be similar would be a temperature map created from
ground observations at different points.  I have
spatial analyst and think the function would be there
but could use some help.
