Dear fellow GISsers,

To anyone pondering going up to the Gulf Coast to see if they can help,
I'd like to applaud your spirit, but also warn you that you should
probably only do so as part of an organized relief effort (American Red
Cross, Salvation Army, Human Society, GISCorps, Civil Air Patrol, etc.).

If we're not careful, we might risk getting in the way of the relief
effort by becoming part of the problem.
=20
Just a thought. Again, all my respect and applause to those who want to
help, but a word of caution along with it.

The rest of us can do our part by staying home with our families this
weekend so that others can go and be with theirs, and considering a
donation to one of those fine organizations.
